Barely anyone had had him on the favourite list. It even wasn't sure if he would run at all. "Johnny Kaz" came, drove and won though and that in a finish which couldn't have been more exciting.

Being the first to go at the start of the time trials on Staurday, Stefan Travaglio posted an average that to the surprise of everyone, including himself, would remain unbeaten. 5 hours later, after the pole day qualifying had ended, he would be granted the pole for the Indy 500. Second was Marco Brughelli and third was the defending SCART Series Champion Butch Davis. All three are already clinched to run the race next Sunday while the rest of the drivers have to try to secure their spot on the grid today.
